Houstonians and visitors from around the world come to the South Main area for amusement, relaxation and just plain fun.


  • Reliant Stadium is home to the NFL Texans with 64,000 season ticket holders and 70 consecutive sellout games; was recognized as “Best Soccer Crowd in America” and had the most fans for 1st ground Gold Cup in 2009.


  • Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo attendance in 2009 hit a record 1,890,332 with guests from 94 countries, making this the world’s largest rodeo (by attendance).


  • Reliant Park hosts performances including Disney on Ice, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Wrestlemania, Monster Jam and AMA Motocross and conventions and exhibitions including the Offshore Technology Conference and the Houston Ballet’s Nutcracker Market.


  • In its 445 acres, Hermann Park has a miniature train, an18-hole golf course, beautiful lake with paddleboats, a playground for all, jogging trails, a free outdoor theatre, the Houston Zoo, dinosaurs and other delights at the Houston Museum of Natural Science and many beautiful gardens, pathways and picnic spots.
